Default vehicle speed sensor

im just wondering, will i be able to get this sensor (located on the rear diff) at an aftermarket parts shop? or will i have to order it from the dealership?

Should be available aftermarket.
Just make sure the parts place doesn't order the transmission speed sensor. The two are commonly mixed up.

Yes, I bought mine at NAPA for like $35.00 IIRC.

Check rockauto.com, I think I picked one up from there for something like 20 bucks or so.
