It could be a bad sensor wouldn't hurt to try exchanging it. I've not had the best luck with Advance Auto parts. I tend to like Napa the best followed by Fishers. I like Advance if I'm buying something made by a big name company like Holley or Edelbrock or something like that or even oil or oil filters but if it's their off brand I've just never had good luck with it lasting. Usually I see atleast 6months out of it though so I'm suprised it was dead out of the box but it's a possibility.

 

I prefer Napa too.
