Default A question about suspension...

I just purchased a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 right before winter last year, I want to give it a beafer look, so I was looking for least costly way(cheapest) to do that so I found a 2.5" lift kit that comes with the leaves and the springs for the front, and then I wanted to put a 3" body lift on the truck-my question is what shocks should I go with do to the lift and the body lift I put on the truck? For instance shocks that work with a 2"-4" lift or stock 0"-2" lift shocks....Any suggestions/advice would be great. Thanks

Body lift doens't affect your shocks at all. Look for a set designed for 1"-3" of lift.
With that combo, you will be able to fit 35" tires. Are you prepared to regear too?

Ok thanks-Yeah i was going to get some 35's during the summer do to the fact that I'm a full time student-but I didn't think about regearing-what would be a good rearend to go with-I need something that gets fairly good gas mileage for drivin on the highway for trips to school and back-surprisingly my truck gets around 15mpg in city and its got 178,000 miles on it-thanks for the help so quickly

Then don't go with 35's. Gears are only going to help so much, but if you go with this lift tire combo, your days of getting 15mpg are over. Expect in the 10-12 range.

4.56 would be the gear of choice in your case if you decide to go that route.
