Thanks silver !!! upside , not my DD , and look at the gas im saving $$$ ... No warning when the overdrive went , another funny thing is when i had it hook up to the scanner hit the throttle TC look out ingage ,left off the throttle TC disingage ...this AM just showed TC lock up code no biggie ,thought i need a new solenoid , as the day went on it was sliping then the OD off light came on and she was running hot but not hot enough to throw the trans overheat light but the temp gage ran at 200 ? odd.... ill take pics of the trans torn apart and put back toghter , and what parts and shift kit .. be a nice DIY ....

good news , look at the gas im saving .. now the bad news , TQ conveter bad clutch bands burned up time for a total rebuild with a higher stall TQ convertor , beefier clutch bands and a shift kit.. looking at spending 1800.00 and thats just parts . with me and my brother and dad rebuilding it.

Why would you do that when you could put in a $4000 bulletproof transmission with a 3 yr warranty. I hear that's the way to go.

1300 stall , for towing.. even tho it will produce more heat , but thats the trade off... right now we are looking at all the options and come up with the part list , and ill post my parts list what what im going with , pluswhen i do the stall, when i bump the cam dont have to worry about the TQ converter.. but the thought is with some towing in mind ( hay , riding mower , haul to dump)..

well yesterday i finally started getting the trans out , going on 3 weeks very slow (lazy) im in no hurry . The idea is to stay in the TQ curve of the truck with the TQ convertor , i have 2 options to go with in the stall (still thinking about it ).. Now the bands 3 different options to go with stock replacement (no) , HD replacement just different metal and thickness (maybe) or there thiswaffle lookingbands HD (mite go this route) , shift kit is a tow n go #FL-8 in the book.. since this wont be my daly driver and the shifts will be real firm .. looking at getting as much use out of the lowend as possible....pics maybe this week with the trans guts and the build sheet...

I got a trans go kit in mine, I commute daily.
its no bad or anything you would dislike. it just shifts quicker, not harder.

edit: added more info.

I actually like it much better than the way it shifted before.
