Are you looking for tips on which shocks to use, or how to remove them, or...?

Have you tried the search function at the top of the page? Shocks have been discussed several times before.

They are pretty easy to change. The rear shocks are easier to swap if you lower your spare tire. Might want to spray the bolts with penetrating oil a day or two in advance.

The rears are a pin on this truck as its hard to get to the top nut and bolt with it being soo close to the frame but they weren't too bad.

Just did mine this past weeklend...No problems... I sprayed all the bolts for a couple of days with a good rust buster.. then the rears came out fairly easily once the were broken loose. On my truck.. the inside nut..( the one towards the drive shaft..) have a flange on them.. which helps to stop it from turning while your loosening the bolt head... the same for the fronts... from the front of the truck.. you can see the bolt head.. the nut on the other end of the bolt has a flange so it will catch the frame and not spin while your loosening the bolt head. On the fronts.. when you put the new shock in.. slide the bolt back through from the front.. it gets just alittle tricky here.. you have to slide the flanged nut through a "pocket" so it will catch the frame again as you tighten it.. Hard to explain.. but you will see.. its the only way to get the nut on the bolt from the back...The shock towers come off with no problems....( top part of the front shocks..) I got my backs off and on with no problems.. they were pretty rusted up.. but the WD40 worked like its supposed to.. and I did mine without lowering my spare.. but it will make room. Are you doing your stabilizing shock? Let me know..

Sorry.. just realized yours is 2WD....it may be alittle different.. but either way.. its easy.. best thing you can do... use a good rust buster... replace the bolts if they are in really bad shape....

Just make sure you install them with the resevoir on the bottom. My brother did it backwards and almost lost it on the freeway!!!

Actually, not all shocks have the reservoir on the bottom. The Edelbrock IAS performers are designed "upside down". You just need to read the literature included with the shocks.

On a side note,do I have to cut the bolts off the shackle to put on my lowering shackles? Dodge put the nuts on the outside and the bolt on inside where there is no room to remove it.
