brake light switch stuck to ON
Whats up. the truck is running but i have a problem now.
The guys who towed my truck used a ratchet strap fastened to the steering sheel and brake pedal. It ulled the brake pedal towards the wheel and it bent the switch back. So now when i use the brake, when the pedal goes back, it doesn;t go back far enogh to engage the switch. i am driving with my lights always on. Unless i use my foot to pull the brake pedal back.
Should i just try to bend the switch bracket back? Or put a makeshift spacer on the brake bar so it contacts the switch.
Thanks, i need a bit of guidance so i don't break something.

FIRST off.. i would make the towing company fix it... why on earth he felt the need to hook it up to the brake is beyond me.. i have towed thousands of cars and never had that urge.. tying up the wheel is sufficient.. second off.. dont rig up a makeshift anything.. i would get it fixed right.. might need to make sure theres no wires in the way and heat it up some and get it bent back where it should be.. if you heat it .. and be careful.. you should be able to get it back almost exactly the way it used to be.. and make it work properly.. but i would indeed take it to the people that towed it and make them fix it on their dime
