Fastman transmissions or the Dr. Evil transmissions are what alot of people recommend, but honestly you can get a good transmission built and installed locally for $2000 + or -

Ditch the automatic and go with a manual tranny.

APS is the way I went and it's the way I'd go again.

I've heard good things about Dr. Evils too but I went with APS as they can start with brand new units instead of rebuilt ones. Mine was a brand new one that is built from there. Wayne isn't the fastest but he more than made up for it and was great to deal with.

I hear people recommend The Fastman one but I've never heard from anyone that actually runs it and the 30 day warranty is enough to keep me away from it. Although he does really seem to make some good stuff. If I'm paying that much I want more than a 30 day warranty. It also seems like it's cheap but once you add up all the stuff you need and all it seems to get on up there in price to where it's comparable with other options.

I went with a Jasper. It's just a stock replacement but you can get performance transmissions too.

From what I've read here, I'd recommend Dr. Evil or APS.

If you're spending that kind of money, might as well throw a few hundred more in there to get you something that will last a looooooong time and perform better than stock.

Just my two cents.

I just ordered my Dr. Evil I will let you know how it goes. I was impressed with their customer service and the fact they match the transmission to my truck and driving habits.

I installed a Dr. Evil Pure Evil performance transmission in my truck about 6000 miles ago and am very happy with it. For a little over $2000 it came with Raybestos Indy Red Clutchesalong with torque converter, deep tranny pan, install and 1 fluid change worth of Redline fluid, and shipping to Minneapolis. Received the unit in less than a week after ordering it. Billy, Dr. Evil himself, has several patents for Chrysler Transmissions and is a quality tester for Raybestos. He has to be the most knowledgable tranny man I've ever spoke with. I highly recommend him.
