When i first start my truck there is a bad rattle under the valve cover on the passwnger side, sounds like the rockers. After about 30 seconds to a minute it goes away. What could be causing this problem? Maybe the lifters loosing prime???

Yah, that's kinda what it sounds like.

 

What can i do to extent the life of the lifters a few months. Should i use thicker oil? Thinner oil???

I doesn't take long for them to get primed but what will help them get primes quicker?

How about adjusting the valves down some???
