2wd lift kit?!?!?!
You'll knock a 2 wheel drive truck out of alignment everytime you take it offroad, trust me use to have one. Broke the frame in half trying to take it somewhere I shoulnd't have.
True though, if you get alocker and some beefy tires you will get some decent traction out of it.
Consider selling it for a 4x4 that is a couple years older and you should walk away from the deal even, or a little ahead of where you are now.

ive thought about it cereal killer but i just love saying that to my brother and all his friends. the look on their face is just priceless!!! anyways the locker does sound like a good idea where do i get those from and about how much. as for the tires i am going to get beefier ones but i need the lift first or can i get away w/ a body lift?
Well there's only one REAL option for locking a 9.25 and that's a detroit locker. They run about $600

I also found that Daystar carries a set of coil spring spacers for his truck, $40 at a retailer I found.

silly mistake on my part.2wd don't have a skid plate either do they?
I mean a body lift is fine if you just want to clear bigger tires (which you'll need anyway) but since his main problem is ground clearance I'd say a suspension lift is in order. I know there's 3" suspension lifts for 2wd truck out there because this topic comes up about once a week, but I can't remember the names of the companies.
The only lifts I found while doing a search was for 1" springs, coil spacers, and 3" blocks in the back. Cheap, simple, effective.
I used to have a 2wd truck, and I could get spindles, springs, spacers, all kinds of neat things for it. But that was back in the early 90's.
Just offering my .02 to the fella.
