the fuel filter is on the pump assembly its self. i dont know if it can be changed. Maybe so. Good Luck.

+1 on the DIY, its very straight forward. Just hope you can get the strap bolts off [8D] i still cant get the front one to budge. Damn canadian trucks.

You got to drop the tank. That is the hardest part. The next hardest part is NOT catching Fire. Get a Haynes or Chiton manual. Really handi to have.

i have to do mine it is going . i always thought it would be easyer to lift the bed instead.the gas tank is a pain in tha *** strap bolts ussually rusted bad and hoses arnt long enough to drop you gotta lossen the tank up and then reach where you cant see to get them off it a big pain. i would like to hear from someone who has done this and see, i bet it would b easyer to lift the bed

It is easier to lift off the box. We used to do it at the dealership that way

Say what? The tank is plastic, the fuel pump assy nut is plastic -- hell, most everything is plastic. Common sense would dictate no smoking or open flame when working on the fuel system.

Keep the trouble light far away! I've seen 3 trucks burn by a drop of gas that landed on the bulb and popped it.
Incandescent trouble lights should be illegal. Fluorescents are only slightly safer. LED is the way to go.
