Default cb mounting

hey all pretty new here. i did a search and found a few threads on antenna mounting but what about the mounting of the radio it self ? I saw one pic on here where the cb was mounted in front of the middle seat / armrest. having a reg cab this location would take away the middle seat or so it looks as if it would .i have 2 cb's one large and one small both are pretty old (one has a sticker on the back that says 1983) and would like to install either of the 2. anyone have pics of where they mounted thiers? any and all ideas would be appricated thanks in advance brian

You could mount it on the dash or hanging down from the headrest although that worries me a little as you wouldn't want it falling on your head. I've still seen it done though.

I have a Wunder mount that mounts it infront of the middle seat like you said. You don't really lose that seat you can still sit there and put your legs over it it's just not the most comfortable thing out there.

i don't know if it makes a difference but i just went all out and screwed mine in on the dash right above my radio. i got a big cobra 29 wx/nw so it was a little to wide to bolt next to the cup holder, i couldn't see half my dials. now i can see it all, though it looks like a** when looking in, but looking out i don't mind.

I screwed a piece of 2x2 to the bracket, and set mine on the floor on the tranny hump. Works great there. I used a piece of "hook velcro tape" to keep it from sliding off. Had it there for 6 years, the only issue is that you might drip soda on it once in a while from the cupholder.....All the wires can be run under the dash and out from under the plastic cover right behind where the radio is at. The other thing under the radio in the pic is an external speaker to make it louder since the radio speaker points straight down.
