gas gauge misleading?
Consider this:
If I fill up my tank up until the pump clicks off,run the truck until the left egde of the needle is even with the left edge of the full mark, andfill back up, it takes roughlyfive gallons. Then, If I run my truck down to the empty hash mark and fill back up until the pump clicks off, it takes roughly 26 gallons. Around 20% of the fuel capacity of the truck is represented in the little bit of gauge sweep it takes to get off of the full hash mark.
That makes sense about the "cooling pool". I suppose in a 26 gallon tank, you would be fine with 24 gallons.... until you went up a hill or took a hard left.
