You have to physically add ATF to the transfer case, DO NOT USE GEAR OIL OF ANY SORT ONLY ATF

The tranny and transfer case aresealed off from each other

I use ATF +4 in my transfer case just because thats what I put in my tranny.......so it makes like a little easier not having 2 different kinds of ATF on stock

I am positive that on all models the transfer case oiling system is totally seperate from the transmission.

yes it takes atf+4. about 1 qt.

tip... remove the FILL plug first to make sure it will come off. then (and only then) remove the drain plug. both are 10MM hex NOT a 3/8 which will strip it out !!!!

That little tip... haha... yea. I was dumb (was, lol, I amuze myself sometimes) and removed the drain plug before removing the fill plug. (Mines got a 30MM bolt, not the 10MM hex) I was worried about not being able to get the fill plug out.
