Default Header Bolts

Is it safe to use lock-tight or something to that effect on header bolts? Reason i ask is because my header bolts seem to be loosening over time and are causing the gaskets to blow.

I just put the remflex gaskets in and i really don't want to have to replace those. They were really nice and kinda expensive.

Yes, they work nicely. Go to the headers you want on summitracing.com, and to the right it should say like "suggessted parts". Clink through those links. Locker nuts should be in there that will coordinate with your header. Had my mechanic actually knew what he was doing, my header job would have been more fun, but he completely sapped the enjoyment of the job, as this transmission shop has sapped the job as well. Just my luck..

Yeah idk but I for sure agree with what he said above about not using red. I have put some red on stuff in the past I didn't want coming loose and you about have to cut it off to get it back of. I'd only use it on something you never planned on taking off again. I for sure wouldn't use it on header bolts as if you have to do new gaskets you may never get the bolts out or break them before they come out.

Red loctite is only for studs and high vibration applications.
You may need heat to remove it.
I had to use Blue Loctite on a few of my header bolts for the same reason
