Well last week was a fun snow week in ohio as some of you may know, needless to say not so bright friends got there vehicles stuck in my driveway, one friend was in reaaaaaallllllyyyy goood. Long story short we broke his cumalong and a set of chains, and if any of you have broke a chain towing you know what happends. I now need a new tailgate and rear bumber needs painted. My question is do i A) get a used tailgate skin it and put it on my current tailgate (i have a spray in bed liner dont want to have to redo that) or B) replace the entire tailgate and have it repainted and re rinolined im looking to do this cheap as possible because my buddy who was stuck agreed to pay for it cause i was doing him a favor and it was his set of chains that snapped. Hes already got a estimate at $1400 to fix the damage done to his truck by the tow company so hes kinda broke.

 

If you're real lucky, you might find a replacement in the same color as yours.

 

i know i can get a used tailgate in red but im mostly worried about the rhino liner side of it, i work for a garage/body shop and my boss already has a quart of paint in my trucks color cause he just did the rear bumper and front bumper like 6 months ago. im just trying to decide if i should just get a used one and hope it dosnt rust out the same way mine is.

 

hmm.. just give it a nice look over.. mabye check around see if could find something bare.
