Default Roll bar issue

Well went junk yard hopping the other day, found a decent condition roll bar for 50 bucks so i couldnt say no. only problem is the bar came out of a extended bed i have a short bed. So you see my problem here lol, the bar came in two peices so i have the upright bar already bolted to the bed, the down bar is my problem. Has anyone made this modification befor and how did they go about it? i have a welder, mig and gas, and grinders and cutters available to me. Should i A) try to cut the bar shorter and have it mount to the factory location with alot of cutting and modification or B) just get some 1/4' sheet steal and fab up a bracket to weld on to the back of my wheel well. the bar ends up dropping right at the base of the wheel well. is this a strong enough location to weld the bar to? any input would help alot im at a stand still right now till i figure this out

Default RE: Roll bar issue

hell.. with all the tools available.. i would make it pretty.. pre-fab that bad boy to stock location, believe a bracket off the wheel well would look kinda tacky.

You have been served, MyDouble Coins. good luck!! dont forget to get it powder coated! hehe
