Default True Duals

So this is my First post YAY! ha well i have a 96 Dodge ram standard cab sport it has the 318 in it. At this moment i have a Y pipe and no muffler and its not loud at all there are trucks with mufflers on them that are louder so what i wanted to do was go and have one of my local exhaust places in town make true duals for my truck. 2 cats. They told me they cant do it on my truck because of the o2 sensor. they said if they moved it my truck would run like crap. Has anyone done it to theres and what did they do to make it work? thx before had i really appreciate it

hey bro, welcome to DF.

anyway, it doesnt affect the pre cat o2, i assume its the after cat their talking about, you can get o2 simulator to get rid of that problem. search it on here and youll find a ton of info. im a 95 ram owner so i never went through that when i ran my true duals.

good luck.

I need to look into this myself....Right now. I have Gibson shorties going to thecat ( not really aYpipe) the dual in cat, single out exhaust. I've been trying to get to the muffler place to get the exhaust done... they were talking fake duals..I was thinking true duals... but they seemed hesitant about doing the job.....one excuse was the O2 sensor....weather the second cat needed in and out sensors too...One shop told me to stick with the single out... It'll give me better torque with the Gibsons and Fastman combo...I'll have to look into this.. I'm ready to get it done..

Just get them to put in an O2 simulator and there should be no problems.

I have true duals on mine. They welded the bosses from the old exhaust onto the new and put the O2 sensors back in. I'm not running cats on mine just magnaflow mufflers.

No cats, no sim, and no CEL and it's been over a year. Truck runs and sounds good. It's almost too load, it will shake the windows of my house when I start it. LOL!!

Hey Tarner you got some pics I can go off of? That is exactly what I am thinking of doing...currently my area is DEQ and requires cats but I might be moving to a place that doesn't require CATS....I hate them...don't know why maybe all the old school stories my dad has told me.

BTW...most exhaust places won't touch from the cat to the engine huh? darn.
