Need ways to save some money?

Cut off the cable TV. If your reading this you have internet access for news and sports update. Watch Netflix online

Have cell phone? Cut your landline long distance and just have local service about $18 a month. buy a 3 cent a minute long distance card for emergency long distance calls if your cell is not working.

Start packing a lunch, snack food and avoid eating out running to the conveniance store etc for snacks

Start tracking where every penny of your money goes. Get receipts for everything and write it down. Do this for 1 - 2 months and you will be really suprised where it goes.

Cut up your credit card and live with in a budget and start paying the credit card down and any other debt.

Debt free and loving it!

remember the Europeans were paying close to $5 a gallon when we were only paying about $1.50 a gallon!

I'm not saying others aren't making money off oil, but to say it not the oil company is silly.

11.7 Billion a quarter! Now I know that all isn't going in somebody pocket but thats a shi*t load of money and itincreases almost every month.

RE: *RANT* What R U willing 2 spend a week in gas?
i got the V6 so i do save a little bit compared to an 8 but under load mine is not that good at all (has to work harder takes more fuel) love my truck a tank of gas will get me on long trips 800kms so it could be worse on average i put about $60 a week in at about 102.5 (as of mar 18) they said a couple of years ago with hurricane katrina (sorry to bring up bad memories) that a barrel of oil would cost $100 and that never happend

my theory is this the government makes good money off the taxes of car and truck sales so if the cars and trucks are not selling due to the high gas prices they will step in and do something about it DON"T STEAL THE GOVERNMENT HATES COMPETION

I'm paying about $120 a week for gas, and that's if I drive carefully. My truck is my only vehicle, and I put way too many miles on it every day. I keep thinking I'll buy a little cheapo car to drive around town, but I don't have the money! Plus I'm still making payments and have full coverage on my truck. I'm just wondering if things will change when the Dem's take back over.

I agree with part of that ...but if I cant afford to drive to work.. to make money to buy more gas to drive to work.. then does that make it privilege to drive.. if ppl cant drive to work..they cant work.. if they cant work.. guess we will all have to go on welfare..
I spend 75 bucks a week in gas..plus another 35 for the neon.. Ppl that work for minimun wage.. it cost them 1 1/2 days pay just to drive to work ... how bad would that suck.. But I agree the goverment does not need to give us anything..........but lower gas prices..
Every product you see on the store shelves..is going up.. when the truck companys are paying 4+ bucks a gallon now diesel..
Then you get a job closer to home. Or you move. If you can't afford to start a job an hour away from your home, move closer to your job or don't take the job. If you are only a few miles away (or less), get up earlier and walk. Thats the cheapest and, depending on distance, can eliminate the need for you to worry about exercise. Or take a bus, many cities have public transportation.

YES, driving is a privilege, period, no ands or buts about it. If you think driving is a right, take a look at the accident that happened a month or so ago in southwestern Minnesota with a school bus. An illegal immigrant, who had been caught without a driver's license before, drove a mini-van way, way too fast on a rural road and t-boned a school bus full of kids on a highway she was approaching. She thought she had a right to drive. She hit the bus so hard it bent the frame on the bus and sent it rolling onto a pickup.

EDIT: Oh, and by the way, four kids died from that accident.

And now onto topic #2...

About the GW Bush thing. HE WAS on the board of major oil companies. He does have close relations directly with Saudi intrests ( I think Saudis are the worst of repressive regiems, yet we bend over for them). He has a lot to gain in high oil prices. YOU CANNOT TELL ME HIS RETIREMENT ISN'T BUILT AROUND OIL INTREST. My mom worked for TI, she has TI stock, gramps worked for IBM he has IBM stock,, so.... what klind of stock would a oil chairman have. Or what about daddy Bush and all the money he got from Carlise??

That was a horrible president. We should have seized control of Iraqi oil and kept it for ourselves. I mean screw it they will always hate us, so why not at least benefit from cheap oil.
He left Iraq mainly because of liberals demanding an end to the war. Thats why we left before the job was done the first time. I love it, they complain about whats going on, and then after they get your way, they complain about how the conservative didn't finish the job. Give me a break.

Not saying I want Socialism, but I wouldn't mind living in the USSA either. I want Insurance, Oil and medical care to be included for all citizens. To be fair. I don't care how many millionaires this hurts, because the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few.

That and its George Bush's fault for starting this war, and not stepping in to stop the high profits these companies are making.
Yes, yes, high profits are wrong. How dare companies make any money. Whats the bloody point of starting a company if not to make money??? The more the better. Eventually their profits will peak, than something will cause that company to crash, and they will lose money. Then they will make it again later if they survive the crash. Its a principle of economics.

Yes, because everyone deserves free this and that. Give me another break. Why do you deserve free health care? Why do you deserve insurance? Why should we, hard working people, pay for a lazy person's health care? Or pay for the health care of illegal immigrants? Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not saying you are lazy or using you an example, just using lazy people in general as an example.

No one deserves anything unless they work for it. You can get free emergency care at any ER, thats enough. If you want other benefits, work. Most jobs will provide you with benefits. If they don't and you want the benefits, get them independently or get a different job. Oh my gosh, the benefits cost money which is taken out of my pay check. Duh, you can't get something for nothing, someone will pay for it.

Socialism doesn't pick up where capitalism leaves off. It makes the honest work for less, and the lazy get something for nothing.

I believe a Democracy with a small blend of Socialism is about as good a government as has ever existed. Note that I didn't say it was a GOOD government, just as good as I think one can get. It deals with most issues and has a touch of socialism to deal with exceptions. Nothing invented by humans is ever perfect, including governments.

And thats it for my book.
