I can't say I ever had a bad experience with an NGK plug in any vehicle.
NGK are even factory equip in some Chrysler products.

I'd still like to know where these 1/2 the cost of bosch NTK o2 sensors are, lol. I want to replace both of mine when my cat and glass pack are installed (though my pre-cat is fairly new with only 1200 miles on it, the plenum has been sucking oil and i'm sure it's burning up the tip slowly but surely)

NTK was the original equipment oxygen sensor supplier to the 2nd Gen Rams,
at least in the early years 1994 1995,
and probably later

it would be a valuable DIY experiment
to weld in an extra front O2 sensor bung near the OEM location
and compare NTK voltage to Bosch voltage
in the same exhaust gas stream

even better would be to have a wide range O2 sensor checking both of them

if you have a 1994-1995 Ram with the single front O2 sensor
and a replacement catalytic converter that has a rear O2 sensor bung with a plug currently filling up that unused spot....a DIY experiment where you move your O2 sensor to the rear bung location might result in slighly better MPG

as the exhaust gas passes through the catalytic converter
it heats up
and the oxygen content goes down

the higher temperature and the lower oxygen content
will "fool" the PCM computer into thinking the mixture is richer than 14.7
and it will then lean the air to fuel until the voltage averages 0.45
which might improve MPG

If you get leaning as far as 16 to 1
the Fuel Economy Calculator Program predicts
an MPG gain of 0.6
at a steady 70 mph

I looked it up by make and model, and they're only 2 dollars less at summit.

When I was looking at getting a new o2 sensor last year, I was in Advance one day and priced them out:

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...91&PTSet=A

It was in the $70-$80 range at the time.

I then did some reading that lead me to believe that the Bosch might not be the best choice, and that NTK might be a better one. Since Advance ( the store that is .5 miles from my house) did not stock them, I went on Summit's site and found this:

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku

Pretty much the same price I paid for it when I ordered it last year. Not quite half the price of the $70-$80 (at the time) Bosch that Advance had. Sorry to have gotten carried away. I hope I caused you no trouble.

No trouble, just excitement! lol. I wonder about the universal ones though. The stock one was kind of tight to reach to the sensor, so if the universal one was about 2-3 in longer that'd be better for my truck.

I've heard nothing but bad things about the universal ones. Of course the people I know that tried them didn't use them on a Dodge but I've heard quite a few people on another board I visit have problems with them. I'd stick with a plug and play one.

Yeah mine was a little difficult, but has worked flawlessly so I can't really complain. Just a stretch I had to make.

Hardest part about doing it was my faulty lamp (i did this on a driveway at night) that had a hole in the cord or something, and shocked me 3 times. Good enough it got to my lung and messed up my breathing for about 30 seconds, lol.

Make sure to keep your lamps in good working order, and the cords are intact.
