Default Max Tire Size

I was wondering what isthe largest size tire that i can fit on my 97 1500 without doing a lift. I've heard everything from 265 75 R16 all the way up to 32"x11.5". Any Ideas? Thanks

1500 2WD - keep it around the 235/245 area I believe
1500 4WD - 265/75/16 is good which I have and can also fit a 285/75/16
1500 Sport - Most go with a 285/75/16 but I believe you can go with a 33' tire as well.

No offense man but this topic has been discussed many times before in depth, including what gear ratios are best for what, any rubbing you may have, etc.

Please try using the search function before you post a new thread.

EDIT: Oh, and welcome to the forums! Got any pics of your pickup?

I think you mean 1500 offroad. I don't think the sport sits any higher than a regular ram.

Eh, I think the sport sits just a little higher, but it's more in the front because of the front axle being there and 2wd having a control arm which kinda sags a little. But I don't think that it's significant enough to demote a tire size. Offroad is probably what he intended though.

I have 245/75/16 on mine and they are fine.

If you've got a 4x4, you can fit 33s with the stock suspension. If you put a leveling kit on the front, you can fit 35s. However, I would not do any serious offroading with those setups. If you want to do offroading, get a lift kit.

I have ran BFG 315/70/17's which is about the same as a 35" with minimal rubbing. I have the Offroad package with comes with 2" of lift.
