putting a 97 ram 1500 5.9l into a 2000 ram 1500 5.9l?

will this work?

Why are you doing the swap? Trannies the same on both? The blocks and intake are the same so you could always take all the sensors and what not from the original motor and put it on the donor motor just to make sure but I'm pretty sure it'll work. Do your research and you'll be fine.

Yep, the engines swap without issue. Use your 95 bolt-ons and computer and you should have no issues. The 98 might not have an EGR valve where your 95 probably does, so you may need to swap your 95 intake manifold onto it. Since you are probably replacing the intake plenum gasket before installing the engine anyway, this would cause no additional work.

Use as much of the 95 pieces as you can. and you'll have no issues at all. Same block and heads.
