I don't even know if that's spelled right but oh well. Y'all get the point. Is there anyway I can get rid of it on my truck?? I wanna go over 95...and it just won't do it.
The Governor is in the injection pump on your truck if I remember correctly.
It doesn't recognize speed, only RPM. It would be VERY difficult to alter without just replacing the pump with a different one that was already altered. Kinda spensy $$.
It is expensive. I put a new P style pump in the truck about a year and a half ago...along with a new engine. That was pricey... Huh...looks like it's time to rip the truck apart...I want more speed...torque...and HP
GM is right, since your engine is mechanical and not electronic. the pump is whats keeping you back. if you want more juice, bomb your engine, then put in either a lower geard diff, or put in an overdrive gear. they normaly reduce engine RPM by 20% or so, so that would give you more speed.
my Cummins is governed by electronics. so I can only go so fast no matter what I do. Now my little yoda, I can flip a switch and kill the govenor, but in doing so I also loose my speedo[>:] going over 105 in that thing is fun
