Driver side axel shaft
I recently bought a 98' ram 4x4 from auction..of course it need u-joints, shocks, ball joints. While taking apart the driver side i discovered that the end of the shaft where the u joint sits is cracked an bent. Somebody drove it hard with a bad u-joint. Anybody know where I can find the inner shaft? My local boneyards have nothing.. an the stealership wants 525 + tax. Im open for anything.. an for some reason it matters thats has 2 wheel or 4 wheel abs. It has the rear (2 whl) abs system.. Plz help.. tryin to turn an burn this thing relativly cheap.
hey, go to www.quad4x4.com they are out of montana i think and they got the inner shaft for 179.97. i just did everything your about to do..was a pain in the but... i had to get a new outer stub my threads where shot had to use a oxy/actlyn torch to get the big nut off.
if quad4x4 wants to much try this number its a slvage yard that is near my house. about 50 miles from me.. they have the whole assembaly outer stub/ujoint/inner shaft.. only wanted 150+15 to ship it might be the same for you. a 1-800-894-9579 called holly auto parts... website is www.hollyautoparts.com they are out of holly michigan.
hope this helps

The trucks with 4whl ABS have a tone wheel on the stub shaft. I don't see why you couldn't use either shaft on an RWAL truck.
See if you have a local Trans and Diff shop. Sometimes those shops have their own scrap yard of just axle housings and stuff on sight.

Or you can call the manufacturers of these things and ask them where the local suppliers are, and what their phone numbers are. Contact the suppliers and get quotes. Then get your axels for the best price.
Then again is seems you might be looking for a drive shaft. my mistake. Best bet is search the internet, call the local shops and so on.
newmoparparts.com usually has excellent prices on factory parts. If you have a manual tranny the front shaft is $387.20, and if you got an automatic it's $616.00.
And come to think of it, there's a website I found a while back that has the hookup on junkyard parts all across Canada, USA, and Mexico. Web address is car-part.com
I just checked for the part and they start under $400 if the part is in tip top shape and if you have a manual tranny. price goes down as mileage goes up and condition goes down.
