When you replaced the wires how did you route them? There is a tsb that has different routing than before because of misfires .Pay close attention to # 4&8 and 5&7 then cannot touch at all and should be at least one inch from each other from cap all the way to plug.Have one in shop right now i just did it to and fixed problem. Now if If I could just get the damm thing to quit running rich It would be complete. If you need exact diagrams of wire routing let me know

well i was looking at it all again today. and took it too work. the mechanics were saying its not a cat issue. however is was noticing that there is a hiss/squel/chirp type that sounds like it is coming from the power steering or water pump, whenever the miss in idle hits. i dunno if that important news or not.

OUTATIME- we followed the wiring diagrams that are posted under the DIY tab up top of this forum. i dunno if thats the one you were talking about or not.

Check the electrical connections for the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS) and the Cam Position Sensor, which comes out of the distributor. I had a random misfire that played heck with my truck until I pulled those two connections apart, cleaned the corrosion as good as I could, put di-electric grease on the connection, and re-connected them. You should also do this to the connection to the coil. It's a cheap fix, less than $2 and it worked for me.

Good luck.
