Default Exhaust Leak

As most of you know, I experienced a harsh exhaust leak from inside the cab when I picked my truck up from the tranny shop. I'm totally convinced they hacked into my y-pipe to get the transmission in, but of course they didn't fix it. Although I will say there has always been a slight exhaust leak before, just not as substantial.

Anyways, I brought it down to a good shop of mine who did the rebuild on my brothers truck, and had him look at it. He said my driver side gasket was blown and that it needed to be replaced. He also said that he thinks that it's blown because the way the y-pipe is designed. He says it doesn't give much movement, especially the way the driver side pipe comes down around that transfer case. So he said everytime the engine moves, it doesn't have enough give to move around.

So check this out guys lol...I went down to good old Sears Friday morning and bought the 263 piece tool set with my brother. We took both headers off and replaced them with new header gaskets. Then after we finished, I dropped my truck back off with the guy. He is going to put in a nice flex pipe at the collector of the driver side header for me so it had a little more play when the engine moves around and ****. I also got the tail light fixed from them too, so she's good to go. I'm excited to get my truck back once and for all. New transmission, exhaust leaks completely gone, and a fresh new truck ready for the spring. It wasn't hard at all getting those headers off and on either! I'm so pissed at myself for not installing those headers in the first place, could have saved myself thousands of dollars, literally.
