Hello. New guy here. After almost a year of not having a truck,(had pick-ups all my life) I purchased a 97 SLT Laramie 1500 with the 5.9 engine. This is my first Dodge product ever. I have been looking for a 4x4 short bed truck for 6 months. I usually purchase a new truck every 2 years (Fords & Cehvy's), but got tired of losing money every time. This is a 3rd vehicle for me, and should be the last pick-up I purchase. One owner truck with 103k miles. Trans was rebuilt at 75k. The original owner was fanatic about his truck! Of course, being me, I had to make some changes. Off came the bed cap 1st. I replaced all 4 shocks, rear leafs, and front coil springs. New fuel pump/sender for the faulty fuel gauge. Added dual exhaust, fender flares, 315-75-16 tires (which I did very minor triming to fit them). Toss in some rain guards, bed rail caps, new head lamps, and that about does it. Will probably do a cold air intake, and reprogrammer, but I think that will be about all. I want to thank the forumn for the information I used in installing the fuel pump! I was getting very tired of borrowing trucks, or bumming a ride to Home Depot, etc....
