Summit Ignition Box = Great Upgrade !!
Installed the Summit digital ignition box (w/0 rev limiter) and the Summit E-core coil in a hope of better fuel economy and throttle response. Very easy to install, great instructions and way better throttle response than what I expected, now just waiting to pile up some miles and check the mileage. If anyone has thought about this upgrade, I would say it's worth it, so far I haven't re-gapped my NGKplugs, but plan on doing so, I also used half of the Accell coil adapter as a pigtail so I could change back to the factory coil in 30 seconds if I had to.
is this a multip spark box like the msd? I ran the off road box on my 2000 5.9 and it worked great, the only downside was it ate up the cap & rotor quicker than I'd liked. I found the best one to use was the orignal mopar cap & rotor. I tried Accel and a couple of other setups but none seemed to hold up as well as the mopar ones.
This is a multiple spark box, but it's digital, I think the MSD 6 series is still analog, the Summit brand is a re-badged Mallory unit, just a lot cheaper. Thanks for the tip on the cap and rotor, I usually always use NAPA brand ignition parts, mine have about 10K on them right now.

Can you elaborate on the "Accel Pigtail" deal.. I dont follow...
Thats a really good Idea. I was actually looking into doing that myself. Was that the first place that you thought of to put it? Or was there no more room in your engine bay? Because if I were you..... I would move it somewhere else if you plan on putting an Air intake in your truck........Just a thought.
I planned on mounting the box on the passenger wheel well, but then decided it would take up less room on the inner fender, I'm happy with my open element air cleaner, so it won't be in the way of another air intake. The Accel pigtail is to adapt their coil to 98 and up Dodge coil connectors, so I cut the other end off and soldered / heatshrunk it to the Summit trigger wires, I found that idea from another member that installed a MSD on his truck, makes it really easy to convert back to the factory ignition and you don't have to splice into the harness, here is a picture of the adapter.
