I just bought a 2001 dodge ram quad cab 1500... And I noticed the headlights aren't that bright. I was just wondering is anyway I can get them to get brighter. Like is there another type of bulb I could use or what.

You can try the Sylvania SilverStars, many like those, but not me personally. I use the "8500k" bulbs off of eBay, and they are much brighter than stock. They are also backed up by a lifetime warranty. I've had only two of their bulbs go out in two years between my wife's Jeep, my pickup, and my previous Dakota, and they replaced them both. Even when you send them only one bad bulb, they will send you a new pair. Very nice.

The best thing I did though to brighten up my lights was buy clear aftermarket lenses.

EDIT: Oh, and BTW, welcome to DF!

Welcom to DF!

I bought the Silverstar Ultras ( past sale at AutoZone - $40 a pair) and wished I saved the money for something else. I'm not that impressed but think it's due more to my lenses. Does your headlights have a yellowishtint to them? Is the lens clear or hazy? If so you need to polish them or replace the headlight lens. Mine were hazy and dull. Polished them up and made a big improvement on light! If you need details on polishing them, try a search on this forum.

Something else is the headlight mod for high beams if that's what your after. Mods the wiring so both filiments are on for high beam. Think I'm doing that next weekend or adding some driving lights. Again, do a search for "headlights".

Good luck!

Most blue looking headlight bulbs are worse than stock. Even the high wattage ones. There are plenty of articles about it online. There are a few that seem slighlty better and some that look good and aren't much worse than stock. I've tried several and moreso like the look.

If you truely want them for the vision HID's are the only way to go. Silverstars may help slightly and there are a few other bulbs like that like the GE Nighthawk's but HID's are the way to go if you want to best imo. A retro fit isn't a bad idea with HID's so you don't get glare and get a nice cutoff line.

I tried the GE Nighthawks, and they look terrible and are aren't as bright as my Eurodezigns 8500k bulbs. I have a set of 9004 GE Nighthawks I'd be willing to sell ya cheap if you want.

Most blue tinted bulbs are a joke, you are correct, but I've found some good ones. IMO, anyway.

I would like to know who here has done the "high beam and low beam on at the same time" mod. How can that not overheat the bulb and burn out faster than normal? (That is, unless you are talking about the sport edition.)

My bulbs arnt the ebay kinda "8500k" but basically the same thing... just a different company... Ive had many people mistake my lights for HID's, even one of my frineds who is a headlight fenatic... But I also have new headlights with the clear lenses and mine is a sport model so I have dual bulbs also.
