Default V10 Exhaust video(s)

Now that I got my new camera:
This is what my truck sounds like with the straight pipe. And yes it does sound like a tractor hehe. Although I dont mind the current tone I am thinking of adding a muffler/glasspack to give ita little bit increase in fuel economy.

yeah i was thinking it sounded like a diesel too. haha not really as loud as i thought a v10 would be with straight pipes. you should get a bigger tip to help it resonate just a lil bit more. but sounds goood. i think a glasspack would really stiffen it up a bit and make it have that nice controlled sound.

Ya I like the sound, but since the straight pipe went in the trucks been running VERY rich, after I got the tip installed it didnt take long for the inside of the tip to get a significant carbon buildup, I dont really know a solution to this besides adding a muffler and hoping the pcm will adjust correctly or add a jet chip which i never plan on doing.

Good call on the JET chip.

I've heard and read many, many times that the JET chips for our V8s are worthless and can actually cause more problems than they help with or solve. I'm assuming the V10 would have similar issues with it.

Sounds awfully similar to my brothers truck. Love the big blocks gassers, very unique. For mufflers, he runs dynomax bullets. They are really just resonators, but they do offer some nice tone compared to a straight pipe. I think a dynomax bullet, or a cherry bomb extreme would sound really good on this truck. If it were my truck, I'd go with the cherry bomb extreme, but both mufflers will enable that truck to be just as loud, give it some tone, and perhaps help with your running rich issue. Sounds good though man!

wontonsmopar, did the fastman TB spacer make any difference in performance or milage?, I've got a 99 V10 4x4. I really like the truck, one of the best I've ever owned. I would "wish" for better milage, 9-10, but can't have everything.

The fastman 52mm Throttlebody helped at high speeds but normal city driving didnt do much, i do have the stock air tube system tho. 8.6mpg stock when I bought it, TB+straightpipe droped down to 6.8-7mpg
