hey all i'm new here. I'm thinking bout buying 01 or 02 dodge 2500 cummins and was wondering if they still have 5 speed manuals. I was under the understanding that the 02's had just 6 speeds.

Maybe this is a dumb question, I'm not much of a manual transmission guy. Heck, I'm not much of a tranny guy period.

But why would you want a 5 speed over the 6 speed?

According to Edmunds.com, a six speed was offered starting in the 2001 model year.
