Default steering noises 01 1500

theres a noise that i think ive isolated to the steering.maybe someone as had or has the same noise and knows what to do cause its driving me batty.
the noise in question is sorta like an intermittent chirp, and seems directly porportional to the bumps in the road and or driver side front suspension.as you feel the bumos in the raod, you hear the noise accordingly.
if i push hard on the steering wheel forcing steering wheel upward, noise ceases.let go,noise returns.
theres ujoints in the column,3 or so?are these greasable?
thanx

oh,and happy new year : )

I don't believe they're greaseable, but you can wiggle them around and see if there's any play in them. Is the noise coming from inside the vehicle or outside. Could be a squeaky dash panel too.

thanx for replying ramtuff-
i tried wiggling the column, spraying lith grease on anything i could see.still the noise persists.
im almost convinced that the noise is coming from the outside of vehicle.even jacked up fr end and tried to duplicate bumps in road with 2x4.sounds good in theroy but no...didnt work.
they say to lubricate the steering components every so often...how does one do this if theres no grease fitting?
thanx again
