I can’t decide what tires to buy, BFG Mud-Terrain or BFG All-Terrain
I can’t decide on what tires to buy.
I wanted that aggressive off-road look, however my truck will probably never be off-road.
The two tires I am primarily looking at are the BFG’s Mud Terrain & BFG’s All Terrain.
I talked to some guys at Discount Tire and they said that the wear will be only a little bit better on the All Terrains, around 50-60-70k, on the Mud Terrains he said 40-50-60k with proper rotations.
I drive 35 miles on the highway everyday to work.
So what do you guys think? Other options are welcome.
Let me know.

AT. Have you looked at ebay? I need some new tires and was just looking there vs discount. You can save about $200 - $300, then you also save tax if you buy from out of state. Those savings include shipping. Of course, you'd have to pay to get the tires mounted. Still, seems like it would be cheaper.
For what you've described your application to be, I'd go with the All Terrains. I actually own a set of each of these tires. I really prefer the ATs on the street and they will wear a little better than the MTs, although I got a ridiculous amount of miles on my Jeep's set of MTs (almost 70k, granted that a Jeep is light).
If going off road much I'd opt for the MTs, but you said you're not, so basically going with those tires is kind of pointless. I see no sense in giving up the nice road manners of the ATs for the MTs if no offroading is in the picture.
My 2 cents.

Actually, the MT's might wear better, since mud tires generally have a much harder compound. But, for your application, I would def. go with the AT's. It will ride much better on the road and handle better as well. MT's suck in the rain.
My MT's do okay in the rain. Granted not like a performance car tire but they do okay for what they are. I don't know how the AT's do but I like my MT's and they look a ton better and do a ton better if you get in any wet grass or mud. The AT's seem to really fail there. If I was going to get a set of AT's it wouldn't be the BFG's. I would look at the Bridgestone Dueler AT's or the Kelley Safari MSR's.

Not to get in a pissing match here, but the BFG ATs performance on the street is much better than their MTs. It's not even a very good comparison. BFG's ats hook up better on pavement, wet ordry, are far quieter than their MTs, and will wear as well if not better. That said,if he is willing to give up road manners for looks then the MTs may be the right option for him as they are far better looking, especially on a lifted Ram, IMHO.
If you're never going to go offroad get the all terrains.
If you think theres even a remote chance that you will go offroad, or if it snows heavily where you're at get the mud terrains. They're a much better tire.
