stupid caliper
so there was a squeaky squeaky coming from under the wheel well. mostly from the passenger side, so i decided at 60k miles to put new brakes on, why not? i have aftermarket rims, oversize tires, stock brakes. well, the brakes where fine, rotors where worn, so i decide to replace the rotors, and brakes. find out, i have the passenger side caliper boot running along side the rotor. so i bought a new caliper, installed the new caliper, hooked up the brake line, bleed the brakes, bleed the brakes, and then bleed the brakes, dropped my truck down from the lift, went for a drive, no pressure. so, i put the truck back on the lift, took the tires back off (mind u oversize tires, not light) decided that maybe the banjo bolt wasnt tight enough, so i snapped the banjo/brake hose bolt. got a new one, put it on, bleed the brakes. still no pressure, it had pressure when i last bleed the brakes, with the pushing on the pedal and having tyler get his hands dirty for once..... kids..... i dropped the truck again, still no pressure. wth?
all in all, i have no pressure and am 99.9% sure i got the caliper on right. so, whats goin on? brake light and abs lights are on. i am very much pestered and troubled.

You have the banjo bolt in right so that the groove is letting fluid into that hole on the bolt right? I don't know what your problem could be. You are bleeding them right aren't you? Are you bleeding them with the cap on or off the resivor? Did you let the resivor run completely dry? Are you sure you don't have a hole somewhere in the line thats sucking air back in? Did you bleed all the brakes or just that one? You should start with the furthest away from the master cylinder and work your way forward. So basically passenger side rear, drivers side rear, passenger side front, drivers side front on these trucks. I did all of mine just to make sure and the rears didn't seem to have any air in them but I would bleed them to make sure. I also flushed all my old fluid out of the rears as it didn't look good.
I will add it took me forever to get the brakes bled like I wanted. Did you bleed until the air had stopped coming out?
How exactly did you bleed them? My guess is it's something with how you are bleeding them or you let it go dry so now you have soo much air in there it's going to take a while to bleed.

I guess you check for leaks. Have a Friend lightly pump the brakes & check the movement of the master cylinder. If that is ok, Bleed all the brakes. Start at the furtherest from the master cylinder to the closest.
DONT LET THE master cylinder go empty or you will need to start again.

Booster bad? Idk. Maybe the master cylinder or booster. Seems to me it has be be somewhere in there. Although I thought the booster would just make it super hard to push the brakes idk. Did you have any issues before you started working on the brakes?
Not that I know of. Are you sure you didn't put a non abs caliper on a truck that has abs or something like that? I really have no idea so maybe someone else can help more.

I had this same problem with my truck. I had new calipers put on, and then I had no brakes. Turned out to be two bad wheel cylinder's and a bad master cylinder. I would try the master first. Althought with 60k idk why it would be bad already, but hey, they are only $30 + $10 core.
Good Luck!

well, to say that i am angry would be an understatement. what was going to be just brake pads is now rotors caliper brake pads, a LOT of brake fluid, hose for bleeding, kinda job. and now, i am working on it, perhaps got a little mad, put my truck in gear and held the brakes while doing so, an air burn out for those who dont know, and my rear passenger side drum fell off. but its now back on. but i dont wanna replace teh master, it looks to be working, i think, it moves and stuff when u hit the brakes
