I paid $12,800 for mine, before trade-in.
4x2s aren't worth anything up here in the Dakotas, but 4x4 trucks really hold their resale.
Mine only had about 49,000 miles on it and only required about $250 worth of obvious cosmetic repairs. Excellent mechanical condition.
A used 2nd Gen in great condition like this one was with under 100k miles is rare up here, especially right before winter, especially with a nice spray-in bedliner and a $500 tonneau cover already installed. It had only been on the lot a few days before I snatched it, and only reason I think I got it was that it was at a small town dealer an hour north of any substantial town, a bit off any main roads.
If you live semi-close to rural areas, keep an eye out for those small town dealerships. They're usually great.

Good idea to move on.
Keep looking. With 63K on it, depending on how many miles you put on it, plan on around 100K or sooner rebuilding that transmission. I paid $2800 for a rebuild and a heavier duty TC and new coolers, and a shift kit.
Then the front bearings go on the 4x4 around 80-100K.
Then the cat's go around 100K
the LSD's go around 100K
Plenum gaskets go around 80-100K
plan on getting 10-13 city, and 13-15 highway.
brakes aren't as strong as others.
truck has trademark rusty doors (mostly in the salted road states).
trac-bars wear out, and some steering boxes go too.
thats the downside...
the upside...
big truck styling
comfortable and roomy interior
handling isn't bad either.
tons of add-ons for the 5.2 or 5.9
You should really watch this forum. you will see all the issues and praise the truck has. also find tips and tricks on how to fix these common problems and some odd issues as well. Its good to do that with any brand you choose. thats something i wish i had done before getting my ram.
