Default Will this keep my grill emblem on?

I bought a new grill for my 01 Ram pickup and need to resuse the old emblem from my old grill. When I pulled it off it looked like it was held on by silicone stuff. I got some clear RTV I'm thinking is probably the same thing but just want to make sure. Will it hold the emblem on okay? Thanks guys.

Here is what I got

That MIGHT work, probably won't hold it very tight though. This is what I'd use:

See bottom of the page, OZ Plas Trim Adhesive by 3M

RTV might work, Urethane would probably be better assuming you don't ever want it to come off

Thats the thing. I don't want it to just fall off while driving or anything but I'd like to be able to take it off if I want to. The OEM one seemed to be glued on with some stuff like this as I could just stick a knife or screwdriver behind it and it would pry off easily. This is kind of how I want this one to be but I don't want it falling off either.

FWIW: I glued my old emblem on my new chrome grill on my Ford Ranger. What did I learn? I used clear RTV. I tried to glue it while it was on the truck. The glue ran down the grill and I could not get it off with out snading it off ofter it dried. Which left the grill scuffed up in that spot. Also the emblem fell of about two months later and was lost forever. I would try something else.

How did you get the emblem off of the old grille? I want to remove mind, but I am concerned that it will break.

Stuck a pocket knife behind it and pryed. Did this on both of my grills. They come off easily.

they make this stuff called Automotive GOOP that has worked well for me in the past. I'll bet anything that is for marine/boat patching would work well also.
