Tire Pressure???? '98 Ram 1500 4X4
Hello all! I have a '98 Ram 1500 4X4 with the factory sized tires on it which I believe are 265x75x16. Now Dodge says to go with 35psi, but on the tires it says 80psi. Where should I have them at?? I spent way to much to wear them unevenly, so I really need to have the correct pressure in them. By looking at them with the 35psi in them, they look low and another person mentioned that the other day too. So someone that really knows the right psi to go with, PLEASE help me out here.
Thanks in advance!!

35-40 should be fine when not carrying a load.
If carrying a very heavy load you will want to increase it.
80 PSI is max pressure based on tire design.
Put those same tire on a loaded 1 ton and you'll need 80 psi to carry the load properly.

When doing research for which tire I was going to get, I came across a post from someone who was buddies from a Goodyear engineer and he suggested max psi on side wall cold pressure to get the most miles out of the tires. I just bought some Goodyear Wranger Silent Armor's and the tire place put 80 psi in them which is the max cold pressure. The ride is good, so far only have put about 100 miles on them.
Yes, I do believe they are "E" load range tires. I wanted something a little bigger then the 245's as well as a tire that is going to last me awhile for what they cost me. Maybe I will increase the pressure and see how they ride.
