Default tranny cooler questions?

alright I definately need to put a tranny cooler on my truck as all I have is the radiator. It's starting to get hot down here in florida and this summer I will be towing much more then I did the last. So I can't decide, most people have a tube and fin style, but summit claims that the other kind(I can't remember what its called) is better.
Which Should I buy?
Post any that you guys have(I want a huge one the biggest I can put on the truck)
Thanks for your help

Don't see why it wouldn't work.
Here is another Brand name option that's actuallyless $.

If you were in the northern states or Canada I would recommend a self regulating plate style but either should be more than fine for Florida

What do you think is more important the thickness of the core with the first one being 1.5 and the other 3/4 or cooling rows. The first one had 6 rows while the flex a lite had 8. Im interested in putting a cooler on as well but wasnt sure what makes the different designs more efficient.

oh thats true, i did not notice that. I still think that rows are more important then thickness of the fins.

BIGGER IS NOT BETTER!! (At least when it comes to this) It is just as bad for you transmission to be operating too cool as it is for it to be operating too hot. This is the one I recommend: http://www.jegs.com/p/TCI/748659/10002/-1/10535

Ive read other posts of people saying that smaller coolers werent able to cool the trany at all. With the cooler running through the radiator rather then on its own i dont see it being a problem running a larger cooler. Im more interested in which design is the best.

I am going to unhook it from the radiator(I'm thinking of using that as an engine oil cooler), I live in Florida and tow regularly with this truck, summer is fast approaching down here and I can already see it in my water temperature gauge. I don't think I have to worry about my tranny running too cold here

The copper tubed ones are the best IMHO. The all aluminum tubed ones have been failure proned in my experience. Cracking seems to be an issue with some. Plus the copper ones are repairable.
