Looking for photos of 2nd geneation RAM (96-2001) with the newer 17" Chrome OEM rims. Pretty sure I can just bolt on the newer 17" (gen 3) and replace the stock 2nd gen 16" steel wheels; am I correct? Would like to see what it looks like...

Also, wondering what a white ram with the black bumper and grille might look like (maybe with blacked out wheels too). Anyone got this look? Thinking I might do it to save a few dollars, versus chrome front end. Also, was thinking of adding chrome trim rings to the blacked out wheels (to give it some chrome).

Yes, they'll fit. 20" wheels will fit too. At least on the 4x4. There's a guy on here that bought the black grille off of ebay for really cheap and put it on his truck. Personally, I like the chrome better.

 

+1, but its all about personal preference.

You are also correct about the gentleman with the 20" wheels, so I'm sure 17-inchers will be just fine.

 

I have Gen3 20's on my 1996 4WD 1500.

I dont think they work on 2WD's... not sure...

Not chrome but I like the look.

 

have 3rd geen 20s on mine, 2wd had to put spacers on the front . the grease cap still sticks thru so cant put the center caps on. i know i have seen them around here with the center caps on and all is there some kind of conversion you have to do?
