Default P0123, P0301, P1740

Coming back up the hill today from work the truck engine light actually started flashing at me, it's never done that before! It's been on for a few months but the code then was only the tps sensor, just ordered a new one for 30 bux. The other two, P0301 and ?P1740?. I know the P0301 is a cylinder one misfire, and a little irritating too casue I thought Ijust fixed that last summer but I'm gonna go ahead and replace the wires to day and run a compression test to see if theres anything internal and hope for the best. P1740, I don't know what it is, I seem to remeber it being a tcc control/ overdrive control solenoid but when I looked it up it gave "Torque management request circuts, tansmission control, traction control". That sounds a little more serious than the tcc solenoid one. Has anybody come across the last code? I 'm going to take it in in the morning and have a stall test run on it and I'll let you guys know the results. Hopefully its just the torque converter and not the tranny, but, thats why they made credit right!

Well, I changed the wires and it seems to have fixed the misfire. There was a little more oil in the #1 cylinder than I like to have but I let it slide for now. On the wires that came off, all of the little metal connectors inside them that connected to the spark plugs were loose and actually fell out when I pulled the wires off so I'm thinking that was probably the cause of the misfire. I never did get around to doing the compression test, it was too damn hot and I figured since its not missing anymore, to not even worry about it. I don't know when I'm going to get around to doing the stall test but my boss is gonna give me a hand in diagnosing the tranny problems a little further tommorow. Oh and by the way, four quarts of royal purple synthetic motor oil and a can of Restore made her run a whole lot smoother than before, I think I just found my new best friend!

Well the boss talked me out of the stall test. I had him drive around the truck and try pinpoint where all the problems were. His main thing is that the tq converter feels pretty solid and so does the tranny, when it shifts. So he seems to think that it is prob just something electronic, like a sensor goin bad. So tommorow I'm replacing the tp sensor, since it pretty much tells the tranny to shift and I don't really want to pull the trans pan, and I'm also changing out the rwabs sensor, cause my lighs are on. I'm going up to the Sierra Buttes afterwards so that should be a sufficient enough road test! Let ya'll know how she does tommorow.
