Default What differential unit????

Need help quick guys. The shop called said my diff is shot. I gues the good old clips broke off. So heres the options he gave me. Keep in mind its a dd but i do tow and I want to keep it that way.

true trac $800
Eaton $600
factory $379
locker $800 not really an option cause he towing. He said somethign about needing to replace more stuff or something

Said "the gears ain't too bad" but if I get them changed He'll give me a year warrenty if not I'm on my own.

So what do ya's think?

He recommened the eaton said theres less stuff in in to break. Said the True trac is nice and good cornering but with weight and big tires he has seen them blow out.

I don't know about the price of the LSD's for the D60's but if they are similar to what they cost for the Chrysler 9.25" those are super high prices. That being said I don't think you can go wrong wtih the Eaton or the Tru Trac from what little I've heard about the Eaton it has been good but idk much about it.

I just know I forsure wouldn't go with the crappy factory setup again unless you want to be doing this again in 20-80k miles.

I keep hearing people with really low miles having the factory ones go out on them. Thats why I said as low as 20k if you even get that. Then I hear of some who get 60-80k out of them which imo still isn't too good. I finally replaced mine at 99k but I had had those clips broken off for a while. I drove it for a year after I found the broken clips.

I'm a firm believer in if I'm doing something I'm going to do it right.

I amlooking to replace my factory diff with the Auburn #542070.

http://www.4wheelerssupply.com/catal...470_496_22_505 $387 free S&H
http://www.adamsdriveshaft.com/positraction.htm$346 plus $20 S&H

Reckon this is my best choice for the best price since I use my truck to pull a 9000 lb fifth wheel.

BTW, I have 130,000 + miles on my original carrier and am only going to replace it because I am upgrading the gears to 4.10's.

Those are for the 9.25" though. Thats the model I went with and researched. Thats why I said I don't know what the prices on stuff are for the D60 out of the 2500 truck.

I paid $357 and $15 shipping I think and ordered it at like 2:30 or something and had it on my door the next morning. I only lived a few hours away though. Since I was in the same state I had to pay tax but it was the cheapest I found and a Auburn Authorized dealer.

Well I had to make my decision before 2 I called him about 1:50. I ended up going with the Eaton. Gonna have him replace the gears too.I am getting all the old parts back. I figure if the gears ain't too bad i could sell them and get a little back. if anybody wants a set of used 4.10's make me an offer. I'll get pics as soon as I get them back.
