Lift for the truck
Well I've always kept an eye on this forum to keep up to date on any problems with my truckand i figured it was about time i signed up. So here goes and feel free to tell me what all im doin wrong. But i've been lookin around at lift kits for my truck and have about decided 3 inches is all i really want. But now that i've got that figured out there's dozens of options between versions of lift kits and i just get confused. Im wantin 3 in the front and then level the back out. So what all parts are required to keep stress off all my other stock parts? Some kits are coming with upper and lower links and some with just lower links and some with neither. So any help or past experiances you fellas have would be much appreciated.
hey i wrote a long reply, then lost it...so here is the shortend virsion
if you want a 3 in lift you dont need to spend much on it all you really need is coil spacers for the front and blocks for the rear, you can get some relatvley inexpencive kits that do this (i have a procomp that was relatvley cheep) or you can just get the pecies your self by getting the spacers such as these ones http://www.revtek.com/dodgesusp.asp#702then meausering what hight block you need in the rear to make is level
as for stressing other parts, with 3 in youll be fine, however the bigger tires will prob ware out wheel barrings quicker especially if its a 1500
here is a cupple pics of mine with a 3 in procomp lift and 35 in procomt xtream a/t's
