Rear Differential...CASE CLOSED=)
Sorry idk why I was thinking the spider gears were the gears idk why I said that.
I don't know a ton about these things only a little because I had to deal with problems like this not too long ago.
So is the actualy housing messed up or whats the deal? Usually you can rebuild them. I will try and get you some links for places to get parts. I don't know if they will be the cheapest or not you can look for places and call around if you want I'm just going to link you to a site that has parts.
PreformanceOffroadCenter.com is supposed to be a good place to deal with and seems to have decent prices if you give them a call. I can't get the site to work right though so give them a call. Maybe you should get a parts list from the mechanic of all the things he thinks you will need.
IDK where to get the Detroit the cheapest so you will have to call around on that.
Is our rear end a 31 spline axle? I'm not 100% sure here so some one else may have to tell us. Pavementsucks.com is a lot better for this type of stuff btw so you might want to post over there.
Here are spider gears for a 31 spline Chrysler 9.25"

Here is the Ring and Pinion for 4.56 gears if you want to have those put in
http://www.ringpinion.com/ProductDet...px?ProdID=5661
Here is a master install kit. I assume this fits our trucks as the other one listed says for 03 and newer. It doesn't say for sure though so call and make sure all this stuff works before you order it.

IDK exactly what all the parts you need or what all is damaged since it's not infront of me to see or I'm not talking to the mechanic. You need to call to talk to one of those places and they should be able to tell you if that stuff will work or not. Try to get a parts list of what you need. I had the shop that installed mine get the bearings I just provided the LSD.
For the Auburn LSD give this place a call. I got this info off Auburn website of places to get them.

Money is the name of the game. If you don't have it, you can't play.
Seems to me like getting all of this crap done at a shop instead of in the garage is going to cost alot. Parts will probably be less then half of the labor thus I woud suggest just taking it easy on the truck for now. If you've got 4.10 gears.... O wait a minute. Seeing as how you never found out exactly what kind of gears you had from the tranny place, just ask the people to check for you at the new place since they've got the carrier out already. Shouldn't take more then 5 minutes to let you know.
So like I was saying, if you've got 4.10 gears and your truck only needs to have the Limited Slip Diff fixed, focus on that. 4.10s will last you a long time so long as you don't abuse them anymore. Gears would be nice, but those numbers associated with them just add up too quickly. If money is tight, just do what is necessary and start saving a couple hundred bucks a month for future goals because it just seems unlikely that your going to want to ask for money from the family or get another loan to pay for all this stuff.
Remember this. Rule of thumb for shop work ois something like this; parts = 1/3 and labor = 2/3 of cost. So just multiply your parts cost by roughly 3 and you'll know what your going to spend. Either that or just get yourself a quote. but use both methods to see how acurate that first measure is. it's either that or 50/50.

He actually clarified for me that it is 4.10 gearing. But how can I just replace the posi unit though? He is telling me everything is destroyed (housing, carrier, spider gears, and bearings). So I don't think I can get away with just replacing the posi unit as much as I wish I could. But I've been keeping it cool. I don't peel out anymore that's for sure. But if I did replace the LSD with a detroit, then it wouldn't be a problem if I did right? I'm not saying I would, but aren't detroits designed for peeling out etc? Anyways I'm kind of getting off topic. I'm a little stressed seeing that he's saying the entire rear end needs to be replaced. I'm going there tomorrow morning with my dad so he's on the same page with me. I was going to put my $600 IRS check towards the loan, but I may have to put it all towards this bull****...I'm pissed that this is all caused from a ****ty part that dodge put in their trucks....this is a big deal.
I hate to say it but I believe I'd have it towed across the street to the offroad shop for a second opinion. It's not often you hear of the housing and all being torn up. Usually you can just rebuild it. I wonder if it actually is messed up or he is just telling you that. Most people rebuild theirs not replace them. If you do replace it with a rear end out of a used one it's a chance and maybe even a good chance that it will be like yours is and messed up or if not now will shortly if you don't rebuild it before you have it put in.
For sure have him show you whats messed up and where it's messed up. Maybe even try to take pictures and post up on here and PS and see what people tell you. PS has been slower than normal lately it seems but it has a lot more guys that know how to do this stuff. Pirate 4x4 is another place that might be good for this kind of stuff. I don't know many guys on here that know a ton about this. There are some I'm sure I just don't know of many.
If you get the Detroit I still wouldn't be peeling out as it's going to tear up 10x more stuff. I doubt it's meant for that either. It can probably withstand it more than the stock one can but people still blow them up. Spinning tires puts soo much wear and tear on everything. Even if it does hold up there is a lot of other parts in other places that it's putting a lot of strain on like the driveshaft and u joints. It isn't good for any of that either. The tranny is another thing even though they told you it's heavy duty I'm not sure it will like spinning either.
Another bad thing is most of the time warrantys for stuff say they don't cover abuse if you read the fine print and spinning and peeling out is usually consider abuse. So if you blow your transmission up and take it in to get it fixxed under warranty you may be up a creek if they find out and can prove spinning is what caused it which I wouldn't be all that suprized if they can.
I hate to say this and I know it's not what you want to hear but the best thing may be to sell the truck and get a car. While they aren't made for this stuff either it will do a lot better with what you want to do. You seem to be more into the preformance side of things rather than the offroading and using the truck as a truck since you said you can't with yours. Basically a car would probably be a lot better at the things you want it to do and the things it doesn't do are mostly what you say you don't do in your truck anyway.

hmm... Housing fuXed up?
spider gears=inside of carrier.
i have seen a housing get messed up due to offroading/rockclimbing...
ask for details on the housing situation... housing = entire rear axle...[&:] not very often replaced thing.
get an open diff from junkyard if housing is usable...

powerbraking/boostedlaunches/spinning is THE WORST and hardest thing on a transmission more than anything besides heat+uphill unlocked towing.
i dont know if you bought larger clutch retainers and billit shafts and top-quality clutches, if not, then your transmission is not much different than any other.
