I have a '96 1500 2WD regular cab long bed with a 5.2 engine.

My first question is how doI determine what transmissionI have (42re/46re) without aVIN search?The trans does'nt have any tags on it.

My second question is I am trying to remove the valve body and can't seem to figure out how to dissconnect the lockup solenoid wire from the connector in the trans case?

Any help would be great

you have a 46re 42re were reserved for 6 cyl.
