Default bilstein shocks

Man i put these on my truck a few weeks ago and they are rough. I thought i might need to let them break in but its been about 500miles and no difference. Is is this normal, because before i put them on i used the SEARCH BUTTON, and from what i read, they had a kick *** review.[&:]

the truck has a 3inch body and 305 hankooks, other than that its stock.

I'd send them back if you are unhappy, they are a good company and they will probably switch them out for free

they do ride a little stiff, but they are a damn good shock. if thats not what you are lookin for then they probably arent for you. i love mine. as compared to what was on the before. some roads will beat the hell out of ya, but id rather that then bouncing all over the place. i put mine on in jan. and no they dont loosen up much.

The shocks do perform well, but they look so much nicer than monro. I think, i will just hold on to thim. I guess the main problem is that i live in missouri and all the roads her suck[8D]

500 miles is nothing... they will soften up. take it from an owner. I've had mine off road alot in the last year since they got put on and they are awesome. cant tell you how long it took to soften them up, but they did.

Good to hear that they will soften a little. Of course the remainder of my suspension is stiff as heck so it will probably take longer for me to notice the difference.

Bilstein's have an awsome reputation, but they seem to have a love/hate relationship among owners. You either read "greatest shock I've ever had" or "man, I'm thinking of ditching because they are so harsh". Never seems to be a middle of the road post about them.
I was actually gonna purchase a set when I put the suspension kit on, but when I went with the Rancho kit, the R9000X shocks were a "throw in" on the deal. Very happy with them, btw...

I take note of all the Bilstein threads cause I feel that's the best shock for your truck. Whether you like the ride or not, it seems like the shock holds up the truck the best. That being said, I can't pass up the Sears offer of installing Monroe or Rancho for free. I'm considering the Monroe Reflex, though my budget may have to settle for SensaTrac, which have a decent review.
