ok so heres the problem i got a 96 3/4 ton dodge with a dana 60 in the back that i want to swap out for a dana 70 but the one im looking at is out of an older dually... and my speed sensor is on top of the pumpkin on my axle but there isn't a place for one on top of the dana 70... so what are my options for hooking up my speedometer? and does anyone have any idea how much wider the dana 70 would be than the 60 beings that its out of a dually... and could i just fix that width issue with new hubs from a srw axle? any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated thank you

 

Umm I'm pretty sure the 01 CTD Rams that arn't dually's have the dana 70. If you haven't bought the rear yet you might wanna look into one of them

 

Justlook fora SRW 70 out of a V10 or CTD 2500. Automatics are Dana 70's,manual trannys had theDana 80.

 

i think that you could make it work, but it would be easier to get one out of a 3/4 ton, or maybe find a 1 ton with single rear wheels. Hey why are you swapping out rear ends, if theres not much wrong with the one you got, pm me when you want to get rid of it. I'm looking to maybe do a swap, and put 3/4 ton axles under my truck

 

the only reason i was lookin at this axle was because of the price beings that like the cheapest ive seen around is like $400 and this one is quite a bit lower than that... and i want to start pullin some heavy loads on the side outside of work and i was gunna change from 3.55 gears to 4.10 gears and i figured if i can just upgrade to a heavier axle with the gears already in it for cheap then why not just do it... the problem is figuring out what to do with the speedometer. plus i was thinkin bout maybe pullin some sleds for fun this year and i definately want heavier axles for that. im getting another dana 60 rear with 4.10s in just for the gears and im gunna put those gears in my front axle and then put the 3.55s in the rear axle that i pulled the 4.10s out of and im gunna sell that rear axle if anyones interested... so any more ideas or suggestions about this dana 70 i would rather not pass it up
