If you have an air compressor, use an air tool. IMHO, that's the only way to go. When I cut mine, the machine shop used one to clean up my cuts. He accomplished more in 35 minutes than I had in a couple of hours of cutting and cussing. He even advised me to remove the center plate, but I was pressed for time.

Yeah, the air powered cutoff tool would be nice. I'd have to borrow one from the shop 40 miles away if I wanted one to use. That would certainly make this job easier but I guess I can give the rotozip a shot. I've got one in the garage, and it doesn't take any gas to get there so I think I'll go that route first.

I've already opened up all my runners, but the center divider between each pair of runners still needs to be cut. I would've finished by now but that sawzall I got has been too akward for me to get a straight cut so far. Oh well. Keep pushing through it I suppose.

Finished most of the cutting today. I'll clean up the injector ports tomorrow. One question though, should the runners be cut so that they all evenly face the center of the manifold, or can they be at a slight angle? 3 of 4 are looking good and even but one of the sets of runners isn't perfect. Could this have much of an effect on flow? I took 1" measurements to make my cuts, and ended by doing around 1.25" due to the tools doing their thing here and there when cutting and smoothing things out.
Overall, how do things look? I'd like to get some feedback as to whether or not I should keep trimming things or not.
Here's some pics.

looks good, I'd take it a step further and smooth out the edges leading into the runner. dont forget to open up your injector bores...

When I did mine, I smoothed the edges leading into the runners so that they were almost pointed. That way, air that was being pulled toward the runners would have an aerodynamic surface to hit rather then a square nose as it enters the runners. Here's a pic from my write-up up in the DIY thread. As Steve mentioned, don't forget the injector bosses. There's pictures of that too in that DIY.

Good lord your intake is clean! Even after I cleaned mine up for several hours wasn't that shiny.

I might think about doing some kind of cutting later, but I'm not a big fan of cutting metal for some reason. To me, Silver, seems like you did this more so because you don't have much left to do to your truck, LOL.
