Default Torque for Plenum

Hi All

I finally got around to doing my plenum but I haven't been able to figure out the torque of
12in lbs. How does one do the conversion for Ft lbs.? I really feel like an idiot asking this.

Thanks in advance

I did mine just a few days ago and the Hughes kit has you doing step 1, 48 INCH POUNDS...( 4 FT/LBS ) then step2 @ 84 INCH POUNDS (7 FT/LBS )..step 384 INCH POUNDS again...

Look in the DIY section for Steve's plenum gasket replacement guide. Follow the TSB in the guide to the letter.

Thank You for the fast reply eveyone. It went together well but I won't finish till tomorrow. I was pretty sure that was the case but I would rather feel the idiot and ask then prove it by not asking.

And just in case you dont know.. you MUST replace the intake bolts..The old onesare TTY..( Torque To Yeild ) And cant be reused.

Oh! APS also makes a kit... heard good things about it too!

The Hughes plenum kit comes with the aluminum pan and the plenum bolts and the gasket for the plenum... if your going to replace the lower intake gaskets...( intake to head, and the valley front and rear...and as I stated before..you must replace the intake bolts..) then with Hughes.. you need to order the lower gasket set which comes with the intake bolts...so.. Plenum reinforcement kit..86 bucks... lower intake gaskets with bolts...47 bucks.. I'm not sure if the APS kit comes with both upper ( plenum ) and lower gaskets and replacement bolts for the intake as well as the plenum.
