Default Header wraps

I was given these during X-mas, yes i know its been awhile since then, but i was told that they are a PITA to put on. Anywho, my dad got me these because they are supposed to increase horsepower a little due to heat reduction. I asked him about this because he pretty much knows what hes talking about. Says that they should help a little, not a huge performance increase but just one more step to keep the engine cooler. At that point ive never heard of such things but later i found out that they are used in serious drag racing and nasecar so must help in some way.

My question though, is if anyone has experience with these are they as much of a PITA to put on as ive heard? Are they even worth putting on, i realize that my truck isnt a drag or racing truck (not yet, that is my goal nothing really special but id like to be in the 13s and i know that 13s is still a leap for our trucks) but even so its it worth putting on. Im iching to do something to my truck, after the new tires i havent done anything and i have a few things im working on it now but i figured while im at it i might as wellput these one.

Any insight and experience is always greatly appreciated.

Major PITA from any I know that have done it.Tends tocause the headers to rust as well.Ceramic coating is what most guys do. Coating inside/out tends to works well and looks 10x better. Just costs a lot more

I originally header wrapped my Summit/Pacesetter Shorty headers and within a few months had heavily burnt through both headers. Upon discussing it with Pacesetter they advised that header wrap actually voids their warranty. Summit however backed up the product and worked out a deal with me for my loss.

Here they are all nice and pretty when I installed the engine:

Here they are after only4 months and5,843 miles on them.
