Default 01' v-10

I have an 01' 2500 quad cab w/ v-10, auto trans. Recently I had the k&n cold air intake put on, a new exhaust system with 3" pipe and cherry bomb mufflers, new plugs and wires and a injector cleaner ran through it. Before I did all this, i was averageing 9.2 mpg. Since I have done these items, i am now getting 7.1 mpg. Has anyone ran into this problem? Is there anything else to do to this motor to increase mpg? I have talked to several people about chipping it, but most of them said it really wouldn't do anything for it. Do I just get rid of it and go cummins or what?????

That'd be the first thing I'd check. And if the sensor is in position and is plugged in, try replacing it. Whoever did your exhaust could have accidentally damaged it somehow when they were under there.
