35" tires - highway friendly tread

RE: 35" tires - highway tread
The Toyo's ride very nice on the highway for a mud tire, but they are heavy and have a poor rolling resistance. I have run BFG All Terrains in the past, and have been very happy with them. They also look good on a lifted truck. I think most AT's would look good, and probably satisfy my needs. The way I use my truck has changed since I bought the Toyo's, that is the only reason i'm considering this. It has nothing to do with the ride quality of the Toyo.

Im running hankook dyna pro m/ts at 33" and they run great on the highway. I dont feel any vibration and very minimal noise. Hankook also makes an a/t that would probably be more of what your looking for. Look around on line for them. Ive read some reviews on them and they say they proform very well both on road and off.

Ya, i'm leaning away from a street tire because I do still plan to off-road, just not in the conditions that I bought the Toyo's for. So a good A/T is probably what I need at this point. Just have to decide if I want the old standard BFG A/T that I know and like, or something new.

Silver go with the BFGoodrich All-Terrian T/A K/O
They are agressive enough for off road but run smooth when not. Also they are DOT approved as traction devices when required. Where I hunt they sometimes require traction devices on and this fills that law. It has the Mountain/Snowflake symbol that the DOT would look for.
I plan on getting these sometime once i get move money, I want 315/75R16 but I will need to lift my truck at least 3 inches and change my gears then. More money than I want to spend at this time.
Good luck and let me know what you finally decide on.
Oh btw - Don't know if you have Costco there but if you do they can get these tires for you and are a LOT cheaper than other people. About $60 a tire I found at times. Also I think they might be having a promotion right now, but you would have to check!

Yup, they just opened a Costco about 5 blocks from where I live. I plan to buy tires for the Swift there very soon.
I've run the BFG A/T before, and have had no real complaints other then their mud traction (hence why I bought the Toyo's). But now, I don't really need that anymore, so I might just go back to them.

The bad thing ive heard about the BFG's is that the tread fills with mud and can get slick at times. The hankooks tread blocks are taperd so that nothing gets stuck. Even in the winter going through 8 inches of snow the tread is still clean. Prices for the Hankooks are cheaper then the BFG's also. Just a thought.

These are the Kumho tires I bought last year.

So far I really like them. 95% of my driving is highway.
These are definitely an AT tire vs a mud tire.
Super quiet on the highway and have been wearing quite well.
I haven't done much off-roading with them. Deep mud performance would probably be marginal but so far snow covered andand gravel road performance has been great!
I bought them because they were cheap but they have out performed my old GY ATS.
I think fuel economy has increased a slight bit too.
One note my sidewall tread is different (nicer IMO) than what is pictured on tire rack. I don't know if they are using an older pic or if it is only different on the larger sizes.

dude, I just put a set of dick cepek FC's II 315/75/16, they are an all terrain with a bit of agressive thread. They make my truck look awesome and they feel super smooth on the highway, no vibration what so ever.
You can look for images of them, they look pretty good, they have the side bitter which look awesome, I like them better that the mickey thompsons A/T's.

My trXus m/t's are probably a little more aggressive than what you're looking for (probably more like what you have on now honestly) but I figured I'd put them out there, because they are 10 ply. They handle great on the roads, even wet roads and snow. I can't even really complain about them on ice. And they still kick pretty good *** in the mud. Awesome tire on the trails too. And they're super quiet. Also I hear good thinks about Mickey Thompson MTZs
